PETYA HANSON
My quiet space, free time, life as it goes - perfectly imperfect in progress:
This site is intended to give a brief introduction to who I am as a person and professional, as well as to cast a view on my interests, activities and aspirations. Sweden is my 3rd EU-country to live and work in, but it is also only one of the cultures I am challenging myself to understand better every day, without forgetting about my origin and ever developing interests.

At home
Skåne is my home now. On Midsommar 2014, after five years in Lund, I moved to live in the Skåne countryside with my awesome Australian husband, who loves Sweden. We live in a 150 year old stone house, built in a traditional style for the region. It is just a few meters away from the main Skåneleden trail. We speak Swedish, enjoy the company of our Swedish neighbours and we organize traditional private events such as Midsommar and Kräftskiva in our garden for more than 10 years in a row.
I have always been interested in other cutures, traditions, food and languages. At the age of 5 my parents took me to the Middle East. As a student volunteer in Bulgaria, I built friendships with students from all EU-countries, former Jugoslavia countries, Turkey and Russia. My studies and hobbies in Sweden brought me in contact with classmates and friends from all continents. My latest passion is discovering South-East Asia on private trips.
As far back as my memories go, I've been always drawing in colors. In 2007, I visited an exhibition and fell in love with what I saw there. I made up my mind to take private classes and learn how to express my feelings through these unique techniques. To keep it simple, it is an untraditional style of finger and palette knife painting, applying the oil colors straight onto the linen canvas. Art critics describe my style as abstract experessionism. Nature is often an inspiration for my passion.

My hobbies
Sports, food, mingling and art. The contact with nature, aesthetics and maintaining a healthy lifestyle full of varieties is what keeps me inspired. Variety for me is in colors, textures, flavours, interests, people and their hobbies, places, etc. I love hiking, be that at Skåneleden or in Bulgarian or New Zeeland mountains. Apart from that, it is oil painting, food & wine tasting, as well as cooking. Lately I try to learn a bit about gardening, focusing on arranging edible plants that look pretty and have a tasty purpose.
